Homer is the Husband and father of the family. He is an avid drinker, and is known for making idiotic decisions, and comments. His common, world famous catch phrases are: "D'oh!" which he says when he makes a mistake, "Why you little!..." which he says when he's angry at his son Bart and then proceeds to strangle him, and finally "MMMmmm Doughnuts (drooling & gargling noise)" and he sometimes replaces doughnuts with another food or drink item.
The wife and mother of the Simpson family, Marge, is the typical loving, caring, concerned, American house wife. She has a horse voice, and her famous catch phrase her mild groan/growl sound she makes when she is mad, disappointed, or disagrees with another character.
Bart, oldest child, brother to Lisa and Maggie is a main source of comedy in the show. He is a little hell raising 10-year-old boy who likes to pull pranks at school, typically on the principal. He is also known for his prank calls to the local tavern, asking for a person who has a funny name, who doesn't exsist, and the bartender yell out the name, and the bar patrons laugh at the bartender, who goes back to the phone and makes a death threat to Bart, but he doesn't know its Bart. Bart's famous catch phrase is "Don't have a cow man."
Lisa, who is the middle child, often faces difficult challenges. She is an avid activist in enviornmental, political, and animal rights issues. She often faces these issues in an episode, and she tries to do the right thing, and usually succeeds. She is an eight-year-old genius, who wishes to attend Harvard, or Yale, and is an avid Jazz player of the saxophone.
Maggie is the baby of the family and has only talked once or twice in the entire series. Her only known catch phrase is the sucking sound she makes with her pacifier.
